Usually, if you’re trading prospects at the Trade Deadline for proven MLB players, you’re going to come out as the winner of the trade. But there are very much the cases where it can come back to get you, such as with the Mets with Pete Crow-Armstrong (traded for a half season of Javy Báez from the Cubs), and the Guardians with Junior Caminero (traded for unused Tobias Myers from the Rays).
